greyfield infill : lynn valley town centre

The District of North Vancouver’s Sustainable Community Development Department along with the UBC Design Centre for Sustainability’s (DCS) consulting team and BOSA Developments are collaborating in the development of a Master Plan for the Lynn Valley Town Centre.

The Master Plan will build on the objectives of the Lynn Valley Plan and will specify land uses, densities, building heights, the road network and infrastructure system, parks and public amenities and other strategies to achieve a safe, accessible, attractive, diverse and vibrant Town Centre that provides significant economic, environmental and social benefits. Further information is outlined in the Council report dated December 4, 2006, item 7.

A three-phase planning process is outlined to develop the Master Plan and it is anticipated that the project will take approximately 16 months tocomplete with a target date for completion set for March, 2008. Highlights of the planning process include a series of public workshops to be held in May and June 2007 followed by an intensive four (4) day design Charrette Event in September 2007.
